![]() ![]() It is an elegant system (requires the use of iCloud Keychain on iPhone) but a new Apple TV should automatically transfer login credentials. It is a tedious process to log in again if you do not own an iPhone but if you do iPhone will automatically bring up a text field that suggests username and password for each service. Unfortunately, login credentials still do no transfer automatically for third-party apps such as Disney+ and Netflix. IPhone users can automatically set up Apple TV by holding their iPhone close to it. So stick to the price point, make the hardware as capable as possible, let the profits fund continuous hardware development. If a company does not make money on the hardware, it has to make money somewhere else. In the long run, it would ruin tvOS with more ads and more monetization. Apple should stick to its strategy and not engage in the race to the bottom like Roku or Google. The puck design is what allows Apple TV 4K to be many times more powerful. The remote control connects via Bluetooth so you can easily hide away Apple TV in a TV rack. ![]() Other advantages of MIMO include improved signal range, reduced errors, and reduced power consumption.Īpple TV is still considerably larger than Chromecast and other HDMI dongles but we don't mind. Both Apple TV 4K (2022) boxes support WiFi 6 – like the Apple TV 4K (2021) – now with 2x2 MIMO (multiple input, multiple output) which is method to multiply the bandwidth capacity by using multiple input and output antennas. To help offset the removal of the Ethernet port, Apple has implemented improved WiFi. In addition, the 128GB version features Thread for Matter smart home compatibility – more on that later. We have the 128GB version with an Ethernet port. To reduce costs Apple has removed the Ethernet port from the base 64GB Apple TV. This is explained mainly by the lack of active cooling (a fan) which is made possible by the more efficient A15 Bionic processor. Ive been quite happy with Infuse but the delay in updating was making me pull my hair out.HDMI Bluetooth WiFi (AirPlay 2) WiFi (Home Theater)Į-AC-3 (DD+) AC-3 (DD) FLAC Apple Lossless MP3 HE-AAC AIFF WAVĭecoding Output: HDMI (MAT 2.0) or WiFi (to HomePod) Thank you for pointing me in the right direction at least. I deleted both shares and then readded my single Plex source and now Infuse seems happy. I went in to dump Plex to try letting Infuse handle it altogether and noticed the two shares in there. I changed the computer that was running my Plex server semi recently, but apparently never deleted that share from Infuse. Infuse gives full playback support, but super slow library updates. Plex can update my library quickly, but i dont get full playback support. What would be great is letting my Plex server handle the library itself, and Infuse just acting as a front end to play it all. It seems theres no happy medium that does them all. Searching indicates this is a common theme with Infuse. This is concerning, especially as my library grows. ![]() My tiny library take ~5 minutes to complete updating. ![]() Infuse on the other hand will direct play DV and will correctly output DDP Atmos but library updating is ABYSMALLY slow. DDP Atmos soundtracks turn into PCM and i lose Atmos. Plex will not play DV movies at all, says that it cannot direct play because the colorspace is not supported. Im using these with an Apple TV 4K, and coming from a Shield that played anything and everything with Plex it is very frustrating because the Apple TV is much quicker and I dont have ads all over the home screen. Currently have a small library (<50 movies, 10 total tv series). ![]()
